The Brazilian delegation from de State of Bahia, led by Mr. Ney Campello, Special Secretary for the World Cup 2014 and the Olympic Games in 2016, started its visit to the Netherlands at Holland Gateway at the 28th of March. Mr. Campello was accompanied by Mr. Lino Cardoso, director of Marketing and Trade of Fonte Nova Participações and two entrepreneurs. The aim of the meeting was to hear about the expertise of the Dutch parties involved in the development of Schiphol Airport and other airports. Micaela dos Ramos, director of Holland Gateway opened the meeting with a warm welcome and an introduction about the concept of Holland Gateway in its function as a hub for international business. Mr. Ben Hasselman from Naco, the Netherlands Airports Consultants, followed with an interesting presentation on airports and its infrastructure towards stadiums and the city centre. Mr. Johan Schölvinck of InterVistas, gave an entertaining presentation on retail and junctions in and around airports and the session was closed by Mr. Maurits Schaafsma, of the department of Urban Planning and Development of the Schiphol Group with a presentation on the role of Schiphol Airport in the region with a link to Salvador and its role in the region of the North East of Brasil. The delegation listened with enthusiasm and instead of having a tour around Schiphol, everyone agreed on opening a discussion which gave the opportunity to go deeper on the subject and to get to know each other better. The morning was closed with the conclusion that all parties were very interested in exploring further cooperation in the near future. As Holland Gateway exists to give information and support, one of the business consultants, translated the whole morning for Mr. Ney Campello, which resulted in the request of having her company for the other government related visits as well. “Of all meetings I found the morning at Holland Gateway most relaxed in terms of programming and time pressure. A very pleasant environment and great support.” Ney Campello. |
